National Honey Month Marks 20-Year Anniversary for Nature Nate's 100% Raw & Unfiltered Honey
This National Honey Month, Nature Nate’s Honey Co., producer of 100% pure, raw and unfiltered honey and the number one branded honey in the United States, reaches a milestone 20-year anniversary. In celebration, the company will donate 5,000 bottles of Nature Nate’s honey to a range of U.S. food banks to share the goodness of real honey.
The September donation also coincides with the launch of Nature Nate’s #ChooseReal campaign, which highlights the importance of choosing real honey for better flavor and enjoyment. All honey is not created equal. Some brands contain high fructose corn syrup and zero bee pollen. The World Health Organization said that without bee pollen there’s no way to determine whether honey came from safe sources and the FDA has said that any product that has been ultra-filtered and contains no pollen, cannot be called honey. Yet, many honey brands contain zero pollen or have been heavily processed, removing beneficial ingredients.
For two decades, Nature Nate’s has worked with U.S. beekeepers to offer real honey straight from the hive, rigorously tested for purity, pollen count and pollen origins, and then gently warmed to ensure all the beneficial elements are kept intact. It is 100% pure and real honey, free of antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, and rice or corn syrup adulteration. The resulting flavors are complex and unique by region and season.
“Honey is a versatile sweetener and flavor enhancer that contains natural energy to fuel your body. Still, it's important to choose real honey for benefits that go far beyond that sweet drizzle and complex flavor,” said Kelly Jones, MS, RD, CSSD, Kelly Jones Nutrition. “I look for raw and unfiltered honey and avoid highly processed honeys diluted with fillers like high-fructose corn syrup.”
Nature Nate’s anniversary donation of 5,000 bottles of honey aims to extend the benefits of real honey to more people.
“For more than 20 years, the Nature Nate’s family has supported communities and ensured that many people can taste real, pure honey,” said Nathan Sheets, President and CEO, Nature Nate’s. “Our mission is to show people the satisfaction of the real thing. From supermarket to food pantry shelves, everyone should have access to pure ingredients.”
Nature Nate’s #ChooseReal campaign will feature Choose Real, with Honey, a new e-book with tips on how to spot real honey, honey facts and guidance for making the switch. Download Choose Real, with Honey at www.naturenates.com/choosereal.

Harney & Sons Debut New Line of HT Iced Tea Bottles
This summer Harney & Sons, the family-owned and operated luxury tea company, announced the launch of a new line of bottled iced tea. Three popular flavors from the Harney Tea (HT) loose leaf tea collection are now available in a ready-to-drink bottle.
-
Blood Orange: A bright, refreshing drink with no caffeine, steeped hibiscus flowers and apple chips with sunny blood orange peel.
-
Hot Cinnamon Spice: their best-selling hot tea proved so popular chilled that they bottled it! Black tea, fragrant cloves, orange peel and three types of cinnamon bark. Steeped strong, with caffeine but no added sugar.
-
Matcha Iri Genmaicha: This is a classic Japanese pairing. Full-bodied Genmaicha green tea gets its nutty flavor from roasted (and popped) brown rice kernels. Matcha, a green tea powder, is added to fortify the blend.
"We are thrilled to welcome some flavors from our signature HT collection to the Harney & Sons bottle lineup," said Paul Harney, vice president of Harney & Sons. "We chose three (3) of our favorite flavors that we knew would shine even without sugar for the HT bottle launch."
Hot Cinnamon Spice, Blood Orange, and Matcha iri Genmaicha HT Bottles are available online and in Harney & Sons retailers nationwide. Since opening their bottling plant in Hudson, NY, the bottle tea lines continue to thrive with each additional flavor.
"It is exciting to bring new life to this classic collection of flavors by reintroducing them in bottles," said Emeric Harney, Marketing Manager at Harney & Sons. "The HT collection in tins was our first departure into a realm of unique and uncommon teas, and we wanted to bring those crowd favorite flavors back."
The HT collection originated over a decade ago with the debut of the iconic loose tea tins. The teas were an instant success attracting large consumers like Barnes & Noble cafes. The collection has expanded over the years and become the epitome of Harney Tea today, accessible, high-quality tea.
Every new product brought into the Harney & Sons family is held up to their original promise to deliver customers the finest quality tea possible. Today, Harney & Sons Tea remains a family owned and managed business. Each generation contributes to the Harney & Sons product line and legacy. The family is proud to continue to serve customers premium teas that are steeped in a cup, poured over ice, or fresh out of the bottle. Harney & Sons remains committed to delivering their customers a superior tea drinking experience. www.harney.com

Melitta USA Expands Commitment to Sustainability with Solar Panels
Melitta North America, a brand well-recognized for exceptional quality in all aspects of coffee and coffee preparation, last week announced a major update to its sustainability efforts – the installation of solar panels at the brand’s state-of-the-art coffee roasting facility in Cherry Hill, NJ. The $1.3 million project will help increase energy efficiencies at the 100,000 square-foot plant, which roasts all coffee for Melitta’s North American needs.
“As a family-owned, eco-minded brand, this new initiative expands our commitment to operating sustainably and protecting the environment in which we live and work,” said Jeff Bridges, vice president, operations. “In addition to producing eco-friendly products like bamboo coffee filters, recyclable single-serve capsules, 100% recyclable boxboards used in packaging, and composite coffee cans made from recycled materials, we’ll now be able to generate 563,385 kilowatts of clean energy annually – enough to power 50 homes for an entire year.”
The plant’s solar panels have an estimated annual environmental benefit equivalent to the planting of 50,942 trees, the conservation of 367,425 gallons of water and the removal of 1,017,767 pounds of CO2 from the earth’s atmosphere.
This is the most recent substantial update made to further enhance the roasting facility. Over the past several years, significant investments have been made from new equipment being installed for the production of single-serve coffee to plant expansion developments to full modernization modifications. The Cherry Hill location has been in continuous operation since 1964, when Melitta first entered the U.S. coffee market. The plant produces the full range of the brand’s coffee products for major retail chains and specialty stores across the country and is a staple in the Cherry Hill community.
New Jersey is currently ranked fifth in the nation for solar power generation, based on data from Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). The solar panel installation has been completed and the panels are fully operational, generating electricity for the plant.
